    The inspiration behind our name, N Baron Nagasawa
    “N” is an homage to Kanaye Nagasawa, a native of Kagoshima who became known as the “Wine King of California.”
    A corner of the restaurant showcases wines related to Nagasawa.

    Kanaye Nagasawa (1852~1934)
    The youngest member of the “Satsuma Students,” a group of young samurai who were sent to study abroad in the UK in 1865.
    After moving to Santa Rosa, California in 1875, he founded a winery and achieved great success.
    In 1983, President Ronald Reagan praised Nagasawa and his impact on Japan-US relations during an address to the Japanese Diet.
